Blessing of Animals Saturday, Oct. 4th, at 1:00 PM. Dogs should be on lead; cats and other pets should be in appropriate carriers. (Anyone bringing a horse or llama?)

Youth Group. Meeting this Sunday, Oct. 5th, at 6:30, planning and preparation for the Pasta Supper and Halloween Party. (Subway sandwiches served).

Men's Golf Tournament. The annual St. Thomas Becket Golf Tournament will be held Sunday,
Oct. 19
th. Cost is $65 and includes 9 holes of golf at Woodhaven Country Club (carts extra), prizes and dinner. Look for the poster and sign-up forms in the vestibule. Call Jim 272-0768 or Mark 272-9014 for more information. All are welcome to join us! Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Men's Club Scholarship.

Women's Club Sign-up and Potluck Supper Orange colored forms on the table in the vestibule. The first meeting of the year will be on Oct. 23rd. A special “thank you” to the Women's Club for donating the chairs for the upstairs meeting room.

Family Perspective. In today’s gospel Jesus asked “What is your opinion?” Why do we think our opinion is dogma or fact? An opinion is only how we perceive a situation or how we feel comfortable doing something. Don’t argue over or become divided by “your opinion.”

Prayer Shawl Ministry meets this Friday, Oct. 3rd, 10:00 in the Parish Center. New members welcome.

Please come to the Respect Life Mass, October 5, 2008, 2:00 PM, at the Cathedral. Archbishop Mansell will offer this Mass celebrating the gift of life commemorating Respect Life Month.

Music Ministry: The Vigil Mass Song Leaders practice before the 5:00 Mass each week. The Adult Choir (9:30 Mass) meets this Wednesday, Oct. 1st, 7PM, for Sunday Mass rehearsal. The Junior Choir (11:00 Mass) practices before Mass each Sunday at 10:30 AM. The Children's Choir (monthly children's Masses) will meet at 12:15 PM, Oct. 11th, between sessions of the Saturday CCD program. Music is such an important part of our worship experience. Please talk to: Gretchen, Mary, Leo or Carrie about joining one of these groups.

Annual Clothing Drive will be held the weekend of October 25 / 26 before and after all Masses. All types of clothing in good, clean condition are needed. Please presort them by age (child/adult), gender (m/f), season (summer / winter). If you can help as a coordinator or serve on the clothing drive committee please call Kevin at 272-3766. Help is also needed in sorting and loading clothes on the truck at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 26. (Confirmation students, especially.)

Adult Formation with Fr. Kennedy starts Wednesday, Oct. 15th in the Parish Center, 7 PM.
