Religious Formation Registration Registration for our 2008-2009 program of Religious Formation (grades 1 -8) will be held following all Masses this weekend, June 7/8. Confirmation registration for 9th graders will be held in the fall. 8th and 9th graders are reminded to continue doing their Mass reports throughout the summer. Forms are available on the table in the vestibule.

Blood Drive will be held in the Parish Center on Thursday, June 19th from 1:30 – 7:00 PM. Please call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE for your life saving appointment. The American Red Cross asks for your help so that they may continue to meet the needs of all Connecticut patients this summer.

The Mass Calendar for 2009 is now available. You can call the Parish Office if you have specific dates that you want to reserve for scheduled Masses in 2009.

Memorial Fund. Remembering those who are now in God's Kingdom is a basic part of our religious practice. Our parish has a Memorial Fund so that the memory of those from our past may live on, to provide for the future. Donations can be made to this fund at any time. The new processional cross, credence table, ciboriums and outdoor trees were all donated in memory of loved ones. Many of the church improvements, our new drapes for example, have come from this fund at no cost to the parish.

Golden Age Social will be held this weekend in the Parish Center from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM.

Women's Club. The Women's Club will hold a cookie, bar and brownie bake sale on Father's Day, June 15th, in the lobby. If you can bake for the event please sign up. There is a sign up sheet on the yellow table. Baked goods should be dropped off in the Parish Center after 3:00 PM on the Saturday before Father's Day.

Reminders. Please dress appropriately for Mass. The hot weather sometimes encourages people to wear beach attire to church. The celebration of the Eucharist deserves better. // Also, during the hot summer months the air conditioning will be on in the Parish Center. Feel free to use it as a place to cool off if you don't have a.c. at home. Bring the kids, books, videos and toys, card games, etc. Make it a picnic. Call ahead to make sure someone is here. // In the same vein, keep track of your neighbors, especially the elderly, who may have a difficult time with hot weather.

School Uniform Drive. Acts 4 Clothing Ministry has for the past several years conducted a school uniform drive for the children in the Waterbury School System. There are hundreds of children in need and every year Acts 4 Ministry has been there for them, because of the generous donations made from churches, organizations and companies in the area. This year our parish will again participate in the Uniform Drive, which will be held at the end of June. We will enclose a flier with the items needed in a future bulletin.

Family Perspective: Every family is imperfect. We fail ourselves and those whom we love. In today's gospel Jesus tells us, “I did not come for the righteous, but for sinners.” By showing “mercy” we avoid the shame and blame game and discover love and acceptance.

Congratulations to Scott Gorski and Chris Rozak who received their Eagle Scout Awards this past week. Well done boys!

Coffee / & after all Masses this weekend.
