New Ministers of Communion training will be held on Sunday, April 13th at 1:30 PM in St. Mary's Church Newington. To serve as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion a person must be a practicing Catholic, at least 19 years old and if married the marriage must be a valid Catholic marriage. If you would like to be part of this important ministry in our parish please give your name to Father Gene after Mass.
Archbishop's Annual Appeal: The 2008 Appeal has begun in our parish and throughout the Archdiocese. Last week, the Appeal kicked off and hopefully by now you've received a request for support from Archbishop Mansell. Please be as generous as you can to this annual effort that funds the charitable work of the Archdiocese.
Parish Scholarships. Applications for the St. Thomas Becket Women's Club Scholarship and the Men's Club Scholarship are available in the church office and Cheshire High School. Applicant must be a graduating senior and a practicing member of St. Thomas Becket Parish who will continue his/her education at a college or technical school. The awards ($1,000 this year) are based on church and community service, a life that exemplifies Christian values, and an acceptable academic record.
